Senior Research Scientist – Imaging Algorithm Development

Location:  St. Louis, MO

Description:  Develop advanced image processing algorithms for hyperspectral imaging, remote sensing, and electro-optical systems (visible to long-wave infrared.)

Duties:  Develops advanced image processing algorithms for hyperspectral imaging, remote sensing, and electro-optical systems (visible to long-wave infrared.)  Researches and evaluates current state-of-the-art image processing techniques including target detection and classification algorithms for hyperspectral and broadband imaging systems.  Models and studies optical and physical properties of electro-optical imaging systems.  Designs studies to collect and analyze phenomenology and target data.  Optimizes existing algorithms and develops new, novel approaches to image processing.  Provide briefings to senior management, partners, customers.  Assists in technical proposals and presentations.

Qualifications:   Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or Computer Science (Ph.D. preferred), ideally with an emphasis in image processing.  10+ years experience (post graduate) in an industry research, academic research or government laboratory environment.  US Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance. Active Security Clearance a plus.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent interpersonal skills.  Working to strong knowledge of QUAC, FLAASH, ENVY.  Proficiency in Matlab and Photoshop highly desired.  Software programming capability preferred, with object-oriented software design a strong plus.
