HyperIFP (Hyperspectral Integrated Force Protection) This program demonstrates the operational advantages of incorporating hyperspectral imaging (HSI) into existing prototype force protection sensor suites, primarily for human skin detection.
The HyperIFP program is based on the science of HyperSpectral Imaging coupled with CET proprietary spectral filtering technology and patent pending image processing/target detection algorithms. Applications for this technology include perimeter security, live/dead detection, identify friend or foe, and (potentially) the detection of concealed weapons.
HyperIFP is much harder to defeat by camouflage, concealment and deception (CC&D) techniques and can provide considerably more target specific information.
Given the spectral signature rich environment that it provides, the addition of HSI to current FP prototype sensor suites (PSS) will provide friendly forces and security personnel with substantially higher quality information in the form of actionable intelligence than is currently available. This will result in higher probability of target detection and significantly reduced false alarm rates. |
