Director of Engineering
Employment Type:  Full time

Location:  St. Louis, MO


Description:  Seeking a Director of Engineering to lead, manage and provide technical direction to a highly-skilled engineering staff developing a range of sensor systems, imaging technology, software, algorithms, as well as Modeling and Simulation for complex networks and Information Assurance/Cybersecurity, preferably in a defense and aerospace R&D environment.


Duties:  Manage workload distribution of a 20+ multi-discipline engineering team.  Ensure adequate staffing levels with the required technical competencies while optimizing the overall morale and involvement of all personnel in order to maximize business productivity.  Ensure technical, cost and schedule performance as well as quality and credibility of all products including RFIs, RFPs, white papers and publications in order to demonstrate a reputation for consistency.  Monitor R&D programs to accomplish program goals on time at or under budget.  RFP review and proposal preparation.


Other Duties:   Establish customer relationships as well as provide technical and programmatic support in order to help ensure successful business development.  Conduct briefings to Sr. level management and various government agencies.  Must work closely with Sr. level management on strategic planning and execution.


Qualifications:   Degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters or higher desired).  Experience with DOD sensor system/payload programs for airborne and ground applications.  Demonstrated expertise in a variety of engineering concepts and practices including optics, electro-optics, and sensor system integration.  Expertise in schedules, WBS, cost, and resource management.  CDRLS  and  PMP a plus.  Successful track record of managing multi-discipline team.  Effective verbal and written communication skills.  Secret Clearance.
